Incyte Diagnostics has acquired the pathology group Medical Center Laboratory (MCL) in Yakima, Washington.  MCL has provided clinical and anatomic pathology services in the Yakima community for over 40 years and is the newest addition to the Incyte Diagnostics organization.

Incyte Diagnostics will assume the Medical Laboratory Directorships for Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital, Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center, and Toppenish Community Hospital, previously overseen by MCL.

“The transaction announced today is a significant step in the execution of Incyte Diagnostics’ strategy of becoming a major regional anatomic pathology laboratory,” said Gary Gemar, Chief Operating Officer.  “MCL has an excellent clinical reputation in the Yakima region and offers Incyte Diagnostics a substantial growth opportunity.  By utilizing Incyte Diagnostics’ technical and computerized infrastructure, we can provide even better service to clinicians in the greater Yakima area.”

Incyte Diagnostics will continue to operate the lab at its current location in Yakima. Dr. John W. Onstad will be retiring. Drs. Kini, Masi, and McCartney will continue to perform their duties at the lab. Dr. Jayanthi Kini completed a fellowship in cytopathology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. Dr. Jose D. Masi completed a fellowship in surgical pathology and electron microscopy at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Harold H. McCartney graduated from Saint Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. All of the pathologists are Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
